Help us help them

Our seafarer center can provide advice, someone to talk to, facilities to contact home and a place where the men and women who visit our port can relax away from their ships. We have completed our hospitality center inside the port to offer services 24/7 just walking distance from the docks.

Grant funding and private donations  resulted in over $45,000. THANK YOU ALL.  The buildings were purchased outright and we have no debt. We had a successful grand opening and blessing on May 16, 2023. Over 80 people attended the event in the rain to support us. Another THANK YOU.

As this ministry becomes solid with a building, funds will become a necessity. Please consider us when you wish to make a charitable contribution. Scroll through the options below or reach out to us on our contact page.

As required by the IRS, we will mail a formal acknowledgment letter for any donation of more than $250. Please provide the mailing address for us to send this important tax document. If a letter is needed for a smaller amount, please let us know.  By law all letters must be mailed before January 31 of the year following the donation but we typically get them mailed within two weeks of receiving the donation.

Best year-end tax planning tips

By Doug Bailey

Charitable contributions rank high on the list of tax season strategies. Consider us when talking with your financial advisor, planner, or accountant.

"If you are required to take retirement age-based required minimum distributions (RMDs) from tax deferred retirement accounts, a portion or all of the RMD can be transferred directly to a qualifying 501(c)(3) charity and eliminate the income due to the taxpayer on the amount transferred," said Outlook's Burnette. "For taxpayers that are regular charitable givers, this provides a very tax-efficient and favorable way to support the institutions and causes you are passionate about."

Give in person

If you are in the Calhoun County area, feel free to drop into any location of the First National Bank and visit with a teller. Tell them you want to make a donation to the Point Comfort Seafarers Center. They will be happy to help.
